ATI 9600 vs ATI 9700

Why is there such a huge price difference between the 9600 pro and the 9700 is there that much difference between them?

The diff is a 9700 is twice the card, compared to the 9600.
Technicaly speaking it has twice the pixel pipes, and a 256bit memory bus.

The 9500 Pro is actually a bit better than the 9600 Pro.
