does anyone know? I got this $$ burning a hole in my pocket and i really want to get a new video card. From what I've seen, the 5900 best's the radeon 9800. Anyone disagree or have any idea when this thing wil be in-stores-online?
TIA, Nelly |

From what I've heard, the FX5900 just barely bests the 9800 Pro in some benchmarks, and the image quality is poorer then that of the 9800 Pro. Here are two good articles on both: http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/...n_9800-05.html http://www.tomshardware.com/graphic/...x_5900-28.html

As AD points out the 5900 is only slightly better in benchmarks. Alot of the time by only 10FPS. Not only can you buy a 9800 right now, it is mosr likely cheaper, not to mention smaller and quieter.

Plus, THG has found that the extra 128MB of memory is superfluous(on both the FX5900 and the 256MB 9800 Pro); save some money and get the 128MB 9800 Pro instead.
