Question Adobe Premiere problem

Please forgive me if this does not go here. I am having a problem with my adobe premiere 6.5. I captured a video and edited it with no problem but when I go to preview it or save it to a file, I get audio but the video is all messed up. It is a bunch of fuzz and you can bearly see the image. What do I do. I am uploading it to an AVI file.

How are you trying to export it?

I don't use Premier, BassMaster4000, so I'm just guessing here. Is this perhaps a copyright source you used??

Cool.. I was just trying to cover all bases, nothing more. Has other projects been sucessfully completed? (meaning like is this a first time thing?)

Can other sources be edited and viewed OK?

What format did you capture in?

I was trying to export the file as an AVI. I finally got it to work after I converted the original file to be edited from AVI to MPEG. I still am not sure why the progrom would not edit the AVI version of the file.
