DirectX, where is it?

I have a new computer and there is nothing but windows xp on it. I installed a game and it asked me to install DirectX8. I agreed, but when i searched for it I found an empty folder named directx. There was nothing in it. Is directX really installed on my computer? How do I know?

yes....its in the core of you computer basically in the windows folder.



Type in the Run function dxdiag it will say there. what version. You must have directx but what version.
