monitor problem

My friend JUST got an LG Flatron F900P and the screen looks noticeably concave..
like when you move a picture from left to right it looks fat on the left and skinny in the center..

I tried all the shape-shifting stuff in the menu to see if I could tweak it but I couldn't fix it.
Is this normal with flat screens?
Or is this monitor messed up?

EDIT: Actually, it's not even concave. It's fat on the left and thin as I go further right.
I think the monitor is defective.
