ATI Radeon 9200
ATI Radeon 9200 Low Profile AGP 8X 128MB DDR Video Card w TV-Out, DVI & CRT Retail by PowerColor
Is $73 a good price? I know it is but have you heard of any problems with this card? Mike |

No personal experience, but I can't think of a better $73 card out there. Only downside is it's a DX 8.1 card.

I think the Radeon 9100 is better.

I read it performs better than the 9200.

I read it in a magazine. Also ATI released the 9200 to replace the 9000.

Now, riddle me this, monkeyd00d - the 9200 is a DX 8.1 card, right? If you look at Newegg, all the 9200's there say DX 8.1, but there is ONE Sapphire that says DX9 - ? We got a misprint or is there more than one 9200 chip?

glc,
Monkey may be correct. A quick google comes up with these clarifying articles: http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...deon-9100.html Compares the 9100 w/9000, 8500LE, GF4MX440 http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/...iga-r9200.html Compares the 9100 w/9200 Both articles give the same genesis of the 9100 which is the 8500LE with another name since it outperforms ATI's newer 9000 series (and the 9200 series which is apparantly the 9000 series with AGP 8X). From these, it appears that the best performer is the old 8500LE w/128 followed by the 9100 w/64. Thank you ATI for creating mass confusion. |
