Video card overclock

Hey everyone!

I'm using Rivatuner to overclock my video card. Rivatuner has options to start up with windows and maintain presence in memoryto maintain the overclocked settings, or you can turn it off and have it revert.

Would it be more advantageous one way or the other to return the vid card to stock settings when not gaming, or just leave it overclocked all the time?

im guessing its the modded 9500 in his sig,

leave it OCd all the time, it wont do anything while at the desktop or on the internet anyway cos its hardly using any power in 2D mode, i should think big changes in clock speed all the time could do more harm than leaving it heavily OCd all the time

If you just ask google for "rivatuner" it'll take you straight there...

http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/

It should work on your 9700.

will it work on a 9500 pro??? because 9500 pro's are locked and the bios needs to be flashed to OC. Will rivatuner work without having to flash the vidcard bios?

You cannot OC a card with any utility or through any other means if the BIOS is clock-locked, so no, rivatuner will not work unless you get a card with a non-locked BIOS, or you flash the BIOS on your card to one that works. Try a google search for "Warp11 BIOS" or the like and see what you can find.

Are you sure all 9500 pros are locked? Mine isn't pro, but it did come unlocked. Sapphire manufactures them with a BIOS that is already unlocked for you.
