New build question

I am planning on building my second home computer. Used for E-mails, internet, and some games mostly roght now. I am planning on using the same set up as my first computer. Athlon XP 2500 Barton CPU, Antec 350W PSU and case, Soltek SL-75MRN-L with onboard graphics to upgrade later.

My Girlfriend wants me to build it so we can upgrade in the near future so she can use it to scan photos and down load them to disk. She would also like to be able to download VHS & videos to Disk. She wants to do this as a side business so it would have to be professional quality.

I have read to do video work I would probably need at least 1 Gig of ram.

I need to know what kind of video cards she would need to do this. Also is the amount of ram I am planning sufficient. Are there components that the Soltek Mobo does not have that I need and I would be better served to make another choice?

All suggestions welcomed.

If anybody has knowledge of a good scanner, or even and all in one printer/scanner that can do this, I could use the input. Thank you.

The onboard video will be fine for what she wants to do with one exception - it doesn't have a video in so you would need some kind of capture card. With this in mind, consider a motherboard without the onboard video (such as the Soltek SL-75FRN2-L) and getting a video card with "VIVO" right off the bat. If you prefer Nvidia-based cards, Asus has a few "Video Suite" cards that come with breakout boxes and software - I'm building a system with one of those later this week. A gig of ram should be plenty.

If you need a scanner and printer, take a look at the PSC series of HP all-in-ones.

Looking for a card with VIVO, am I looking for a gaming card such as Radeon or GForce or a TV/video card? I don't think there any diferecnce in price to speak of between the Soltek SL-75MRN and the SL-75FRN Mobo's. Could I just get the MRN now and install and run a card with VIVO later. She would like to start doing photos to disk first, and if she can make money doing that, than reinvest in what she needs for the video work. Will I be sacrificing some performance by using the Sl-75MRN.

What video card are you planning on using if you don't mind me asking?
I don't do any gaming so I am lost when it comes to what is a good video graphics card.

Also, some stores in my area have been running sales on Epson Printer Scanner. I know nothing about Epson. Some folks say there good, and some say their not. (isn't that always the way).
