Computer freezing and crashing with ati Radeon 7500

I recently purchased a radeon 7500 for a very limited budget build. the card won't seem to work. It will boot and run with the windows drivers but as soon as i install the ati drivers the ones on the cd that came with it or the new drivers off there website it freezes or crashs very frequently. When the computer reboots windows comes up with an error report thing saying there was a draw error on the radeon 7500 and to get the latest drivers. I've been trying everything and can't get anything to work. i've tried both windows xp and 2k and have had the same problem in both. I did get the card to run in my other box. Anyone have any idea about whats going on or how to fix it?

I would be interested to know if you have found a fix for this, as I am having the same exact issue with the Radeon 7500

my radeon 7000 worked fine with 1.6 catalyst drivers but ever since the 1.7 release it has had problem like u guys are describing. If the 1.7 drivers fix anything specific like game problems, then i would install the old 1.6 drivers rather that the 1.7.

I was originally using the 3.6 drivers when i encountered this problems then i swaped teh card into another pc and used a different gpu in here with the release of the 3.7 drivers i decided to try this card in here again. I threw the card in and installed the 3.7 drivers and the computer seemed to run fine for about an hour with the side off i watched a movie played a game and did some normal tasks to try to see if it was stable it seemed fine. so i finished hooking everything back up to the case and put the side back on within a few minutes the computer crashed and upon restart i got the same old errors. Now it seems to be working ok again with the side off. What i'm thinking for now alteast is that this gpu has really bad cooling and tends to overheat without proper ventilation i'm going to try modifing the heatsink to put something larger on to see if that helps. I'm not sure who manufactures the card i have it just says powered by ati on the box and never states a specific company name. i'm hoping that the overheating is the problem and that it can be easyily remidied. If not i guess i'll be switching my cards back until 3.8 comes out or i figure out whats going on.

trie the extra cooling didn't seem to work so i swapped the cards and gave up for the time being
