No Sound...Help
I have a computer that has no sound. It has onboard audio and video (no seperate cards) and is just used as a workstation. What are my basic troubleshooting steps?

Check to make sure the onboard sound isn't disabled in the BIOS, or disabled by a jumper on the mobo.
Check to make sure Windows sees it (look in Device Manager), and make sure it is functioning. Make sure your speakers work. That should start you out. |

After you check everything doctorgonzo said to check, go to your tools section and click on multimedia. See if your sounds section is possibly grayed out. If it is, go to Device manager and
uninstall your sound section and then reboot. that might fix it for you. thorlo6
