Exclamation Yeah Big Problems Maybe new ATI drivers

Alright me computer has got some problems. I built it this summer. I have the following Specs:
1. Asus A7N8X deluxe motherboard
2. AMD Athlon 2500+ Proccessor with Barton Core
3. ATI 9700 PRO AIW
4. 2 Sticks 256 meg pc3200 Crucial RAM
5. Windows XP home

So I got the new ATI Catalyst Drivers and installed them. I reboot the computer and I get this voice message. "System Failed Memory Test, now booting from Operating System." Now I get this message occasionally but this time the screen displays the letters "LI" after the message and just sits there. Has anyone had similar problems??? Any advice no matter how small it is will help. Thank you so much.

This link is to a pretty comprehensive Drivers forum that has an entire section devoted to ATI. Go to DriverHeaven

For one... the error on post has nothing to do with the drivers as the drivers aren't even loaded yet. You may have a physical hardware problem.

As for the "LI", has anyone been playing with Linux... that is the LILO boot loader and your boot sector is screwed up. I know on Win9x.. you run FDISK/MBR to repair that... can't remeber at the moment under XP, but there is a command to fix it.. you will probably have to boot to the repair consol. Type in /? to get the list of commands.
