New Vid Card
Ok.. So after reading a bunch of reviews, I bought a budget card FX5200 Ultra for my new system because I don't want to spend more than $150 on a card because I simply don't believe in spending more than that on a card. Most of the more expensive cards have options and features that are for "the future" rather than "the now", and I don't feel like paying for stuff I'm not going to use.
Anyway.. after reading all the Half-Life2 reviews, I've come to realize my FX5200U is going to suck major ass. So, I'm going to replace my Ti4200 with the FX5200U in my second computer, but I need a new card to put in my 1st comp that is my gaming rig. I'm looking at the 9600Pro, but which one should I buy? I'd like to overclock it to make it run even better, but I also want to get the best bang for my buck. Is the 9600Pro the card I should I get? Or should I get an older 9500Pro? Or a 9600Pro? Does it matter if I get a 9600Pro Ultimate? Or some such card? There appears to be a great deal of variance. Should I buy a Saphaire or an ATI or what? I don't care about sound, so fans don't bother me. I'm running 3 fans as it is, so that doesn't matter. I'm not going for a silent system. Thanks for your help and opinions. |
