9800 XT and FX5950 Comparison @ X-Bit

A HUGE article/review of ATI and NVIDIA's new flagship cards, the ATI RADEON 9800 XT and the NVIDIA GeForce FX 5950.

http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/vid...ra-9800xt.html

For those of you who are too lazy to read it, ATI once again kicks butt!

One thing I thought was weird was in Tomb Raider The 9800 outperformed the Nvidia at 1600x1200. but in tomb raider 1600x1200 +FSAA x2 the Nvidia was able to outperform the ATi. Not just in 1600x1200 but all res. The Nvidias didnt slow down a bit and the ATis slowed down alot.

I just read the conclusions (ya, feelin' lazy tonight ) and, gee no surprise there, eh? I've been an nVidia fan for a long time, but my next card will be ATI.

Yeah, my AIW Radeon 9700 Pro card was my first non NVIDIA card...and unless NVIDIA pulls drastically ahead, I'm sticking with ATI.
