Question ATI Video Cards

Hi, this is my first post, hope to get a few answers from you guys & gals.

My first question is: Do you have an ATI video card in your machine?

My second question: If you do, does it compliment the style of games you play?

I have an ATI Radeon 9500 and it works great for the games I play. Which are: MVP Baseball 2003, Morrowind, Nascar 4, NHL 2004. They all work great for me, not able to turn the details all the way up but hey most games you can't do that anyway and get good performance.

Have a nice day!

I have an AIW 8500DV and love it... I'm not a heavy gamer, but when I do play... it all looks good to me.

Cool, Morrowind had been crashing on me for no reason every once in a while, but since ATI put out their 3.8 drivers gaming has been a lot better and none of my games have crashed since then.

A Radeon 9800, thats a great card that my bugdet will never allow, but it would be great to have. Can you connect that card to your tv, or do you do video editing with it? How do the DVD features work for you?

MY DVD player from ATI doesn't work, it keeps giving me a message that says "ATIMMC.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenince." It worked the first time I installed everything but the first time I updated my drivers it stopped working and game me that message.

Thaks for info, hope to hear from more people.

I have a ATI 8500LE in my daughters PC, a ATI 9100 in my wife's, a ATI 8500 in my test box, a ATI 9600 PRO in my secondary PC and a ATI 9700 PRO in my main PC.

I use PowerDVD to watch DVD on both my monitor and TV with the s-video out on all cards.

You prolly need to upgrade the ATI DVD software or reinstall it.

I'm not a heavy gamer but I do like quality video when I do and more important is DVD image quaility.

Yeah I have Power DVD too, it works great. Just wondered which one was better, I never got the chance to use the player from ATI.

Power DVD has good image quality, and I have never had a problem with it.

ATI Radeon 8500...it's been great to me...but i'm beginning to feel rather inadaquate with 64MB RAM with these new-fangled 256MB's beasts out there.

Ok on this old computer I have, I am using a PCI Radeon 7000 32mb DDR AND ITS CRAP!!!!!!! I go to my friends house to play games sometimes and he has a Radeon 9600 pro. That card is unbelievably fast. Any Radeon beyond a 9500 Pro is probably better than anything you will need.

I have a Radeon AIW 8500DV on my main rig and a Radeon 7500 on my second one.

Both have served me well, and for the games I play are perfect. Right now, those games are Battlefield 1942, Madden 2004, and Empire Earth.
