Right now I'm trying to figure out which one to use. I've tried Adobe Premier and it seems too complicated. MediaStudio Pro seems OK, and I'm in the process of finding Pinnacle. That's kinda the reason for this poll, to see what most people like and use and for what reasons.

i use a large assortment, just depends on what i am doing. i really like premier and i love media studio pro. i also use a cheap program called nova video explosion. avid free dv is a good free one that i really like. just depends on what i need and how fast i need it. i like the simplicity of the effects in media studio and video explosion. but if i am doing something that i can take a lot of time on, i will use premier. i don't like to be strapped down

Premier 6 and Final Cut Pro 4. I just stopped using FCE in favor of pro.

Premiere Pro, Avid Symphony, Discreet Combustion and Adobe After Effects are all in our studio (on the video side). Steinberg Nuendo and Wavelab, and countless plugins are on the audio side.

Video Vegas 4 (Which is now called Sony Vegas for they bough the company), Vegas is comparable to Premiere. However, it is going to be seen if Sony will keep it that way or if they will make it of lesser quality.

Adobe Premiere 6.5. What's Premiere Pro? Is that the lastest version of Premiere? TIA.

Adobe released Premiere Pro to compete head-to-head with Final Cut Pro. To call it Premiere 7 would be an understatement since there are so many added features.

Adobe Premiere 6.5 at the moment, but I'll upgrade to Premiere pro once I'm back to Germany.

Do all these answers mean my purchase of Pinnacle Studio Deluxe v.8 was a bad choice? Haven't gotten too deep into it yet, but seems fairly user friendly to me.

The thing that bothers me about Premier is that when you insert a transition then you have to build the preview before you can watch it. Other than that.....I like it.....I found out the problems with my comp though. It was having trouble running everything because my RAM settings were set too fast and it was trying to go faster than it is rated for. I changed it back and haven't had any trouble since.

Premiere 6.5 and up is real time - no need to build previews.

Studio 8 is a good product. I'ts user friendly, has great codecs which will give you a quality video. Every product I mentioned is in use in my studio, in a professional setting. If I were just doing some video at home, I wouldn't spend the money on Premiere when products like Studio 8 are available.

I'm sure my partner would disagree with me - but he's the video side of the business, I'm the audio side. He's got Premiere at home and uses it constantly.

It's just an image tag - I found the signature on-line. It allows for customized quotes and then gives you a link to it.

Studio 8 is too buggy. Neither Studio 7 or Studio 8 render a DV AVI properly. I have installed that Software on many PCs so far, on every one the same result.
Studio 7 also crashed alot, dunno about Studio 8, but it doesn't seem better. Also it is limited to 1024x768, which is not really a good thing.
Therefore I switched to Premiere, and so far so good

But I don't need all the professional stuff of Premiere, if Studio would work then it would be good enough for me. If it works for you, then be happy. It never worked for me.

Studio8 has an easy interface, but I am finding alot of bugs. Slow-downs and crashes. I'll open a saved project and some of the clips are solid red boxes so I have to redo, corrupting music files and showing them shorter than their actual length. Dunno what to do tho. I dropped $200 on the deluxe version with the capture card so I guess I'm stuck for now.

Use to use FCP but stopped using the G5 and went back to PC. So I am using Premiere. I planned on getting Avid but haven't gotten around to it. There are lots of diff between FCP and Premiere but none that make your video look any better. But most companies hiring for video editing don't take you seriously if you don't have a mac.
