video card memory

ok i just finished my computer and have the 9700 pro in it...in bios should the memory be set to 128 or 64 for the video card memory???

if its 64(which was default so i left it) can someone explain to me why it is set to 64???

The default seting is probably 64, if your card has 128mb of memory change the bios to 128.

Generally, it is set to half your system RAM. It's where video textures are stored thru the AGP bus. With cards these days having 128 and 256MB RAM, you will notice little difference if any (and it will take benchmarking to show it) by setting it any higher than 64MB

ok i have the p4c800e dlx....it says i can run 5.1 speakers on it...if i need a driver update can someone send me the link..i thought i did it but i guess i didnt..thanx

idunno its not wortking so i figured mabe a driver update would do it.....any have any ideas on why the 5.1 isnt working???

Set the AGP aperture to 1/2 your system ram or 128mb, whichever is less.

If you have the front panel audio hooked up, try disconnecting it. I believe 5.1 requires use of all 3 jacks on the back and the correct settings in the audio control panel.
