radeon 9800se vs 9800 pro

i am in the market for a graphics card. I am running right now a fx 5200 (non-pro)...sucks. i can barely run halo. i am a hardcore gamer and want a great card

im either going to get a
fx 5900 (non-ultra)
or a 9700 pro

but then i came across "THE" site of course im talking about www.newegg.com and found this

http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...roperty&DEPA=1

its the 9800SE

im not sure what the "SE" means at the end of this but the price is ultra cheap and i know the 9800 is a great card.
i couldnt find any benchmarks for it on toms'hardware so im blind to how well it performs. DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS CARD!!!

You're better off with a 9700 Pro over a 9800SE... the SE is a stripped down version kinda like the MX series of nVidia cards. If you go Radeon, always get PRO.

doesn't the se stand for second addition? meaning the pro came first but then they made a crud card of the same card in a sence?

Considerably slower... to put it simply... you get what you pay for... big performance comes at a big price.

IMHO the 9600 PRO or 9600 XT would be a better choice over the 9800SE which are priced about the same.

The SE means Slow Edition. You cant compare those two cards for performance. The 9800 SE cant compete with the 9800 Pro.

And as for the FX 5900, it's great, provided you don't plan on playing any new games. The FX cards suck at DX9, so if you're just going to play old DX8 games, then you'll get great performance. If you actually want to play new stuff, get the best ATI card you can afford. The 128MB 9800 Pros are pretty cheap now that the 9800XT's are out, so get one if you can, if not, the 9600XT is also a great card for about $200.

The SE is ATI's answer to the Nvidia MX cards. BIG difference.
