Graphic Design

An aquintance of mine is looking to build herself a new computer. She works with programs like photoshop, premiere, 3d modeling tools and the likes. I was wondering what kind of graphics card should i suggest? Would a 9600 pro be sufficient or should i look at something else?

Any of the Matrox video cards would be great. If she can afford it get the Parhelia.

Ya im looking to keep it under 200. My main question, besides looking for suggestions is, a graphics card good for gamin will their usefulness follow in graphic design follow the same pattern? IE 9800 better than 9600 5900 is better than 5600. (are cards that are good for gaming good for graphic design)

There is no general purpose card under $200 that's any better than a 9600XT. The only way to possibly get better performance for your proposed use is a entry level workstation card such as an ATI Fire GL, Nvidia Quadro, or Matrox P-series - but those are specialized cards biased towards OpenGL instead of DirectX and generally don't game well.

Any of the 3 alternatives I mentioned, or go ahead and use a 9600XT.
