What are you going to use it for? Your computer or just watching TV?

FYI, a 1200x1600 monitor has more pixels than a HDTV. Unfortunatly, there are no HDTV movies that I know of. My 20" monitor is close enough to my bed where I can turn it, kick back and watch movies. The image quality is far better than my TV

Well it depends on if you are going to recieve HD broadcasts. If you are, no LCD will hold a candle to even a cheap HD capable TV. Even on standard broadcasts, a HD monitor looks better than most LCDs (except the Sharp Aquos and other similar LCDs).
And there are plenty of HD movies on the market. They are on D-VHS and you need a HD capable HVS deck. You'll find some good information here: http://www.dvhsmovieguide.com/index3.html Dave.
