Which 5.1 speaker system??
Ok.... I have my christmas bonus so I want to get a nice new 5.1 speaker setup. I have 3 options I'm considering.
1> Klipsch ProMedia ultra 5.1 Personal Audio System Specifications: Configuration: 5.1 Power Output: per Satellite:60watts/channel@=<1% THD,100Hz-1KHz ;Subwoofer:170watts@=<3% THD, 40-100Hz Frequency Response: 25Hz-20kHz +/- 5dB Signal to noise ratio: Not Specified Remote: Wired control Features: 90° x 40° Microtractrix Horn, Center channel has rear post angle adjustment for optimum positioning, SWS link for easy connection to ProMedia add-on subwoofer 2> Creative Labs MegaWorks THX 5.1 550 Speakers Retail Specifications: Configuration: 5.1 Power Output: 500 Watts RMS(4x Satellite Speakers:70 Watts RMS per speaker;Center Speaker:70 Watts RMS;Subwoofer:150 Watts RMS) Frequency Response: 25Hz-20KHz Signal to noise ratio: 99dB Remote: Wired Remote Control Features: THX Certification, BASH amplification, Auxiliary analog stereo input for connecting to external audio devices, Enhanced 5.1 sound quality on EAX and Microsoft DirectSound 3D supported games 3> Logitech THX Certified Z-680 5.1 Speaker 500Watt Silver Retail Specifications: Configuration: 5.1 Power Output: 505 watts RMS(Satellite speakers:248 watts RMS;center speaker:69 watts RMS;Subwoofer:188 watts RMS) Frequency Response: 35Hz -20kHz Signal to noise ratio: Not Specified Remote: Wireless Remote Control Features: Built-in Dolby Digital and DTS hardware decoding, Dolby Pro Logic II decoding creates a 5.1 soundfield from two-channel sound sources, THX-certified theater quality digital sound, Digital SoundTouch Control Center Right now I have Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 speakers and I love them. So I'm leaning more toward the Klipsch 5.1 speaker setup. So, any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Is cost a factor, if not, I would go with one of the THX setups, probably the Logitechs. They have a good reputation as far as their speakers go.

I've heard good thing about the Logitechs . I have always had a preference for Klipsch though. Have you been able to listen to any of these systems? Speakers are very much a personal thing.

no, sadly noone has these speakers systems up and available for me to listen to. I've been reading reviews on the three systems. Right now I'm reading the reviews for the Klipsch system b/c that is what I'm leaning toward due to the fact I own the Klipsch 2.1 system and they rock.
The Klipsch system is more pricey, but I can add my one sub to the system and give me a total of 3 subs..LoL That would be cool.

Now I've eliminated it down to the Klipsch system and the Logitech System.

How much are the two systems. I would really take a serious look at those Logitech speakers. |

If they are the same go with the THX system. If the THX is a little bit more....got with it....if it's a lot more......go with the Kilpsch.

In all the reviews the Klipsch speakers are rated the best but they are also about $70 more. I'm debating if I wanna spend the extra $. I was just hoping someone w/the logitech or the other speakers would post what they thought of the system.. LoL

The Klipsch ProMedia's will kick any of those systems in the can. They aren't quite as loud as the Logitech Z-680's, but Klipsch is renouned for thier sonic qualities - qualities you already are aware of.
If money is no object here, I'd go with the ProMedia Ultra 5.1 setup. Just stay away from the GMX system - not even close to the ProMedia's. Dave.
