Digital sound with Analog speakers

Hi friends,

I just wanted to know that if the mobo has built-in digital integrated audio, then can it be hooked to analog speakers. In other words, would it digital sound adapter co-exist with analog sound speakers?

I know that it would not be possible to get digital sound from analog speakers but I just want to know if getting analog sound is possible?

Thanks a lot
Regards
Gautam

You are right. It is analog. It says Audio subsystem for AC ‘97 processing using the Analog Devices AD1981B codec (analog only output jack). However, the driver downloads page says,
SoundMAX Integrated Digital Sound driver, version 5.12.01.3513. This is confusing? How can it be digital sound driver?

Fancy way of saying it does no hardware signal processing. How it outputs it is completely up to you (by which jack you plug into).
