I honestly think that the best one is a POWERCOLOR RADEON 9200SE Video Card, 128MB DDR, 64-bit, DVI/TV-Out, PCI, Model "R92P-C3S" -RETAIL $85.00 or a ATI AIW VE(RADEON 7500) Video Card, 64MB DDR, CATV/VIVO, PCI -RETAIL $91.00 from Newegg.com

ok then so here's the REAL question.

how much of a difference will a ATI Radeon 9200SE make when playing counter strike 1.6 as opposed to my intel intergrated 4MB video card lol

(oh yeah rest of specs)
P3 500Mhz
384 MB's of PC133 RAM
**** mobo
**** sound
3000Mb/s download internet connection

128MB of DDR RAM vs your 4MB
Card running at 400MHZ vs unknown but much lower speed on yours.

Question kinda answers itself.

You might also want to boost your RAM up to 512MB.

lol yeah I know.

Although not optimal, the 500MHZ CPU should be okay as it exceeds the minimum for the game. The problem you have is your present video setup cannot draw fast enough or store enough. The newer video card will give you much better performance and then when you get some more money to spend update the RAM.
What Operating System are you running? 98 is ok, but if you are running 2000 or XP you need to shutdown some of the un needed services to free up CPU time.

As crappy as it is, I'd go for the FX5200 because it's the only PCI card that comes close to supporting DirectX 9. It's also a faster card than a 9200SE.

The 5200 supports DX9 in theory but in real life it isn't worth it. Since you are building a new PC soon you will be better off with a 9200.

If you are building a new computer soon, a PCI card will be almost useless.

The 9200SE is a pretty weak sister - if it were a full 9200 that's a different story.
