ATI AIW 9600pro Price Jump

I've seen the price on the ATI AIW Radeon 9600pro jump from $213 to $245 in less than 2 weeks. Is there any hope of seeing this come back down or did I miss the boat?

Does the 9600xt come in an All-In-Wonder? I've seen a nice Asus 9600xt, but not any ATI AIW 9600xt. Do you have a link to one?

i haven't seen it on newegg, but i know that the aiw 9600pro has been discontinued. ATI's website does have a page for the AIW 9600XT though: http://ati.com/products/radeon9600/aiw9600xt/index.html

thanks. I actually found an article on ATI's site that says it will retail at around $299 (A bit more than I would like to spend). The AIW 9600pro was the way I wanted to go, I guess I have some thinking to do. I noticed the Asus 9600xt has VIVO, would that be sufficient for video capture and editing. I don't really have to have the TV tuning feature, but would be interested in converting VHS to DVD format.

Yes, the Asus 9600XT is very nice - a very close match with the ATI AIWs. I didn't know that there was going to be a ATI AIW 9600XT - would've gotten it if I were there . Well, remember also that Radeon 9800 Pro is retailed at 299 USD and its on sale at Newegg for around 260 - a major price drop. What I would do, is get the Asus 9600XT - its also gone on a recent price drop from 200 -> 180+.

Hope that helps,
kram

So what would I be giving up in the AIW card if I got the Asus card, both have VIVO (Not as important to get tv tuning)? Does it come with capture software?

It's not as important to me that I can watch TV on the computer, I just want to have the ability to capture from an external source and edit the video to record on DVD. It sounds like the cable tv related functions are the only difference between the AIW 9600pro and the Asus 9600xt (aside from the graphics abilities).
