Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis Video Card Problem

I installed a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis (256 DDR) video card in an ASUS P4P800 Deluxe Motherboard and connected it to a Compac P110 21" monitor. The monitor power light went out and the monitor went black. However, an ATI Radeon 7000VE video card worked ok so there was nothing wrong with the motherboard, monitor or cables.

The 9600 video card appears to be dead. However, before I send it back to the supplier I would like to find out what the 3 pin connector is for on this card in case this is the reason the card doesn't work. The connector is near the top of the card near the DVI and VGA plugs oriented parallel to the top of the card. A jumper is across pins 2 and 3 where pin one is the pin closest to the DVI and VGA connectors.

Does anyone have this card and know what the connector is for and know the significance of the jumper. I can not find any documentation on this connector.

Looking forward to hearing from you

John

It seems to be an NTSC/PAL jumper setting.

(from another forum)
A curious thing about the Sapphire was the NTSC/PAL jumper was set to PAL. So I just changed it to the NTSC setting before installing it. With that in mind if you do buy from the refurb’s make sure all the jumpers are set right

Try switching it to bridge the other pair and see if it works.

Hi

I tried moving the jumper on the video card and still the monitor wouldn't respond, therefore, I suspect the board is dead.

I''ll have to ship it back tomorrow.

Thanks for the help.
