geforce 450mx vs. ATI Radeon 9000
I have both cards but I was wondering which was better of the two (geforce 450mx vs. ATI Radeon 9000).
So far the Radeon card seems to have more support for games. Also can I just slot both cards into my machine and run with any problems. |

I'm guessing the ATi 9000 would be the better of the two (I'm not a gamer). The GeForce MX video cards aren't thought of as good gaming cards.
You want to run both cards at once? If they're both AGP cards, you won't be able to do that. If one is AGP and the other PCI, you might be able to run both (I think you'll have conflicts though)...but why would you want to do that?  Cricket

I believe its possible to do so - what Cricket is saying. Actually, I think that's one of the few ways to actually do dual monitors (metioned previously by Cricket)
. From what it seems now, the Radeon 9000 has better support for games, as first, its performance exceeds the GF MX, second, the MX are very irreputable around here, and three, Radeon 9000 have DX8.1 support, where the MXs have DX7.Hope that helps, kram

Im guessing you meant to type in mx440. for game the radeon 9000 is slightly better. the geforce 4 mx's have dx8.1 support, not dx7. if one is pci then you can set up both cards for dual monitors just as kram said.

Sorry imbest, but I beg to differ on the DX support ont he mx440 - did some Newegging and found that all GF 4MX are DX7.1 support. All that set aside, the ATI card will probably do you better in the short and long run. However, I would try both if you have them both right now and see how they run.

Umm ya I checked that out and most of them are dx7.1 but my MSI Geforce 4 MX440 is dx8 http://www.msicomputer.com/product/p...-T8X&class=vga and I guess its only for MSI or something, sorry for the confusion.

Very wierd - only one card supporting DX8? - more the reason to use the ATI - a sustaining standard of quality control is at least met in ATI cards
