Does anyone know of any good driver sites? I'm trying to find drivers for Xp for my camera, the drivers I have dont pass the compatibility test for XP (Which alot of stuff doesnt), Or does anyone know any way I can bypass that issue and just get the camera to work?

Its a Netview NV-300M USB PC Camera , Im running XP Pro,

What issue are you trying to bypass? What happens when you plug it in?

It says found new hardware, then says Dual Mode USB Camera, Then it says, A problem occured during hardware installation, Your new hardware might not work properly, then in device manager it has the yellow exclamation next to it. I wondered if i could bypass what ever causes the problem message.

Have you tried visiting the website of the camera manufacturer? Perhaps visiting Windows Update with the camera installed will offer that driver.

Are you sure that you are getting good USB support in general from XP? I believe SP1 includes some driver updates for USB.

i have an old polaroid pdc 300 that i could never get to work on w2k or xp,they suggested some off brand drivers but they wouldn't work.i gave up and bought another camera.i know this doesn't help but i think some discontinued cameras just wont work on xp.sometime the compatability thing under accesories will work but not in my case.hope someone else can help.

what is it excatly that you need to do?
just download some pictures to your hard drive?
does the camera have a memory card?
if so, then just buy a card reader and plug it into the usb port of the computer and take the card from the camers and place it into the reader, and do what ever it is you need to do.

you do not need to connect the camera to the computer this way.

It's a webcam, bailey - gotta connect it USB to use it.

From a forum where someone has a camera with the same controller chip:

Goto

http://www.ovt.com/ov_downloads.html

and download the xp drivers for the OV511 USB Camera. when u plug the camera into the pc, do not install software automatically, but select a driver from a list or specific location. click next and select the dont search i will choose the driver to install option. click next. make sure u have extracted the driver files from the zip file into a folder, then click have disk and locate the foler with the drivers in. click next again and it should dhow up "dual mode usb camera". thats the driver you want. install that one, and the little red light will light up on the camera, and should work with any video conference / webcam programs.
