Question nVidia releases new card...but not 6800?

Hey,

Today, I went into my CompUSA ad, like i always do, and I'm can't stop wondering what I saw on there. It is the GeForce FX5500 OC from BFG - a GPU around 160 USD. Anyone have it? Is it another GeForce FX card? Where does its performance fit in its line?

Thanks,
kram

Seems like another FX card, then. I would think that it was kinda like the ATI's Radeon 9600 series - a fill in gap for performance to mainstream users, but I was wrong. I do look forward to ATI's new GPU that's supposed to come out within weeks, though.

Thanks,
kram

ati and nvidia are so neck and neck, and we just can't wait to see who's better or faster so we can run down and but the lastest card in hopes that we will be swayed back and forth between these two companies....

seems kinda funny how nvidia is bringing out the 6800 card before Ati brings theres.......when Ati developed the new technology first.....especially the GDDR3.......

So unfair...ATI is more innovative, and nVidia is quicker at using it. Seems like ATI is really behind on this race, characteristic of ATI, but usually in due course, comes out with a better card.

Hope that helps,
kram
