Boom No sound from 2 front speakers, Creative 5.1

Some help please,

I have Creative Inspire 5300 5.1 Speakers on my comp. I have just recently started having problems with the front two speakers after I downloaded some stupid music mixing software. My soundcard has 5 connection spots:

Black - rear speakers (connected)
Green - front speakers (connected)
Pink - Microphone (N/A)
Blue - Line In (N/A)
Orange - Subwoofer/Center (connected)

The back of the subwoofer has corresponding connections for the front, rear, and sub/center speakers. Also are connections for each speaker:

2 front
2 rear
1 center

When I play music, sound is coming out of the rear and sub/center speakers, but I am getting nothing from the two front ones. I thought the problem may have been with the actual speakers, but when I plugged them into the rear speaker connection on the back of the subwoofer, they worked! But when I plugged the rear speakers into the front connection, they didn't!

Frustrated, I thought now the problem may be the Green connection that goes from the subwoofer to the soundcard. So I plugged it into the Black connection on the subwoofer and surprisingly it worked! Now I had to think of something else.

So far I know that ALL the speakers are working, but just when connected to the rear or center connections on the back of the subwoofer. All of the colored plugs work.

The configuration in Creative's speaker setup is currently at 5.1. Also, the Windows speaker setup is at 5.1. I ran a diagnostic on the speaker and the test sound comes out of the rear/center speakers only. I reinstalled all of the soundcard drivers also.

I'm tired and frustrated and have been searching for a solution but unsuccessful. If anyone can help or is having the same problems I would appreciate some feedback. Thanks!

I don't want to be this guy but you don't have the fader on the remote set all the way to the rear do you? Please don't feel insulted/offended by this question, just want to rule out simple probs first.
