AGP Pro 50?

I was pre-reading my motherboard manual (Abit IC7-G) before my first build and I have a question for you all. This motherboard has a small spacer thing at the end of the AGP slot that it says is to keep expand the slot for an "AGP Pro 50" card. What is this, and spacificly, for a Radion 9800 Pro do I keep it or pull it out?

I'm not totally sure, but i too had one in my other board before i bought a new one.

is it a little plastic thing stuck at the end of the AGP slot with a sticker over it? i took it out but it made no difference as i could tell, my only guess is that it's used for older cards.. or perhaps even workstation cards if they have longer ports?

I did a search on newegg for AGP Pro 50, and it looks like it was something to do with older cards. Only cards I found with it where old GeForce 2s anyway. Guess they added a few contact points to speed up transfer or something. Guess I leave it in.

An AGP Pro card is an AGP compatible card that draws slightly more power; the longer AGP Pro slot supplies the extra power pins. The reason they put a cover over the elongated portion is because some non-AGP Pro cards might inadvertently be installed(or shift)into the AGP Pro portion of the slot. Normally, you would only remove the cover if you're using an AGP Pro card.
