Video Input problem
Hi everyone, hope you can help. Here is my issue. I have Pinnacle Studio 8 as my video editing software. I am using a Sony trv240 camcorder to put video into the PC via Firewire card I just bought. (Texas Instruments OHCI compliant controller) I am using a Belkin cable I got at Best Buy.
When i look at the view on the TV or camcorder playback on LCD, the picture looks great. Proper lighting, etc. When I input to the pc it looks just awful. Dark grainy picture. What could be wrong? Is this new firewire card i bought a piece of junk? Thanks for any help! |

At what resolution are you viewing your captured footage? You've got to remember that a TV has roughly 425 lines or resolution - your computer is running at least twice that. So are you looking at your captured footage in full screen mode - or giving that Studio has the ability to capture a lower resolution file for editing, maybe that is what happened. I'd check your capture settings, make sure you're capturing at the highest quality.
