I use Firefox, and recomend it to anyone else, I have heard good things about Opera as well. The change from IE wasn't that bad, all you have to do is get used to little things like refresh changing to reload.

I think myIE2 is just a front-end for IE, but correct me if I am wrong, mozilla is Firefox. I have heard that the free opera has ads, but never tried it so i'm not sure, but you could try opera and firefox and see which you like best.

Mozilla or Firefox get my vote. I've heard nothing but good things about Opera, but have never used it myself.

I personally don't like Opera because you have to pay for it to remove the banner ads. I use Mozilla Firefox...its pretty stable, I downloaded a few of the extensions such as when you click a link it opens in a new tab vs. a whole new window. I like it a lot. I would recommend Firefox.

You don't have to pay for Opera, but if you want no ads....then you do... ;-)

Personally, I use Firefox - which has a new version coming out very soon. But if you are looking for something different from mozilla/opera/and myie2, you could try Avant Browser, it's decent and uses tab-browsing. The built-in pop-up blocker works alright too.

If you're going to go with mozilla or firefox (I recommend firefox, it's lighter) go here http://white.sakura.ne.jp/~piro/xul/...nsions.html.en and click on download. It's a program that opens a new tab instead of a window opera style so you won't have 10 windows open all the time.

I would go with Firefox.. I love it. My friend movied to it after a reformat for his computer and he loves it. I only use IE when MSN Messanger pops it up for my e-mail, and the occasional online virus scan. Go Firefox.

My votes are also for Firefox and/or Mozilla. Great little browsers and much more secure than IE 6.

I vote MIE2. I don't really care if it's just a front end. It works great. Better than Firefox or Opera. I have used both of those browsers for a few months each. I settled on MIE2 because it just has more useful features and it doesn't get slower over time like the others did.

Opera is the best but it has a lot of features that may just complicate a person with very basic computer knowledge. It does seem to be a lot faster on my computer than firebird but I have very little ram less than is recommended for firefox so it might be diff for your friend. Firefox is pretty simple and you can't really mess up too much if you go into options.

I though that was just going to be in the next version of IE. It doesn't really matter. When is SP2 supposed to be out anyway?

HiHo: I don't think MyIE2 or any other IE front end would be an option here, because his IE is broken. This will pretty much restrict it to Opera or a Mozilla variant.
