VPN Help
I'm a fairly new MCSA, and I just haven't had any experience with the whole VPN thing and I was looking for a little advice. I was wondering if anyone could give me some step by step instructions, or anything would help. Basically, I'd be hooking up a machine with XP Professional to a server with 2003 Server. Both sites have high speed internet and the server is behind a netgear 8-port router. I know this could be sort of a noob question, so thanks for dealing

What do I put in as far as the IP address? The server is on the 192.168.x.x subnet, but do I put in the sticky ip address from the isp? or do i need to configure something in the router?

Also, am I setting this all up from the server or the remote workstation?

2. Click Create a new connection, and then click Next. Click Connect to the network at my workplace, and then click Next. (this would be on the XP machine)
The 192. IP address won't work. That's an internal number to the local network. |
