Question Yahoo and Hotmail - Wrong browser problem??

I'm having a very strange problem.. it just started this morning, and nothing has changed on my computer since yesterday.

I have no viruses, I have no spyware, and I havent changed my browser...

When i got to hotmail or yahoo mail, it tells me that I don't have a version of Internet Explorer that will work with it, or that I am using Netscape (I am using IE 6).

When I try to get into Yahoo! Mail, it also says that I am under someone elses name everytime I go to the site.. It's like it chooses a random yahoo account ....

Now, If I open my msn messenger and check email through there, I can get to hotmail.

On yahoo.com, then mail at the top...its says I have the wrong browser, and as I said before it says I am under a different name. It asks me to sign out or go to my account options. If I go to my account, it's MY account, not the random name it uses....then I can go to mail on the left, and it lets me go to my email.

Something really weird is going on. Can anyone help?

Oh, and yes, I reinstalled IE 6.

That's pretty interesting - your ISP might utilize a service where it shuffles around IPs - Dynamic IPs. My ISP does that but always gives me a fresh one. If that's the case, you need to get yourself recookied (sign on again) and everything so that Hotmail/Yahoo will reacquaint itself with that IP.

Hope that helps,
kram

well, I am on a DHCP, but I have never had this problem before. I only get a different IP when my router is power cycled.

I don't think my ISP has anything to do with it.
