Question Uploading avi file

I recorded a webcam movie at one house, and saved it as an avi file.

It would not upload to my image/movie hosting site at that house, so I assumed it was because I was on a 56K connection, so I emailed it to myslef (took 37 mins to upload).

I got back to my house, opened my email and downloaded it, and tried to upload it to the site again (images.igloos.ca). It took awhile but I think it DID finish uploading, but when I play it, it is just a grey screen and it says something about it could not play because a decompressor was not found. It said the same thing when I played it from my HDD before I uploaded it, so its not a problem with the site.

I really want someone online to see this avi video. Do you possibly know how I can achieve this.

Thanks much.

image/movie hosting site -> have you checked to see what file type they support?

And when you are not able to watch the AVI file, that means that you don't have the appropriate codec.

An AVI file is just an envelope format, the video inside can be encoded with any codec available, so you need to find out what codec was used and then download and install the codec on your system.
