Firefox- won't sort bookmarks by name, a-z

What am I doing wrong? I select those options and it sort the folders correctly
in the 'bookmarks manager ' window, but when I go back to 'bookmarks' on the toolbar, they are still arranged randomly.
They were imported from IE arranged alphabetically. I have tried rebooting.
Can't find anything on the site or in FAQs. any ideas?
Apart from this, another very happy new Firefox user.

The feature doesn't currently work, you have to install an extension.

What version are you using. If you aren't using .9.1 try getting it...or better yet .9.2 with the new security flaw patch. That might be your problem, because it works for me. I am using .9.1 with the patch.

Thanks Guys, I got that extention installed, couldn't get it to work, but then realised it had put a new item on the Bookmarks pull down ' sort bookmarks'
and a click on that did it.
