Yes it is possible - I'm not too sure how to, though. Ric449 has his computer help website self-hosted on his desktop - just read the "About" tab there
. Hope he comes by.kram

Thanks kram8806.
Well i did a seach and i read the "build your own Server" here on pcmech. I guess i should have searched for that before i posted on here. I installed Appserv and a Php-Nuke adon. I have a site which can be acessed by my IP. For security reasons i will not put up my IP beacuase im not sure about security. If my IP is typed into the address bar you see everything that is in my "C://Appserv" Folder. Can i make it so that only the PHP-Nuke site can be seen? Also are there any security issues i should be aware of. I am connected to a 4 way router, along with 3 other pcs in my house. I dont have a software firewall other than XPs built in one. Also would this cause any latency issues on the other computers? Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

if your hiding behind a router you should be ok if it has some sort of built in hardware firewall or something. if you dont want anyone seeing your directory tree from c:/appserv just place a blank html file in it or a redirect to phpnuke. or you could just install phpnuke in your root directory. if you dont want to give out you ip like me, use this service http://www.no-ip.com/ theres a wide choice of domains you can use and theres software to update your server ip with the nameservers. but as with most things a simple whois will reveal your ip, but if you have a firewall you have nothing to worry about. i run a mail/ftp/web server from my computer full time with my dsl connection and with no-ip and havent had any trouble.
