P2P Problems
I've been experiencing some problems with Kazzalite lately. Portions of downloaded songs sound scrambled, or simply have no sound at all. And these are files that are supposedly shared by hundreds of other users.
So what is going on? Any ideas? |

I experianced the same problem, although I don't know what's causing it. Download Shareaza, it works much better:

The kazaa network has been flooded with bad downloads in order to discourage file sharing.

Thanks for the replies. I will try out client.
This is troubling news. Do you know if the other networks have been polluted as well? Last edited by troysvihl; 07-24-2004 at 01:56 PM. |

No idea. Kazaa has been the only one I've heard any buzz about (with Shareman Networks being sued and all...)

Can people still download music through Kazaa even though it's illegal? Wouldn't Kazaa have shut down the downloads? Oh yeah and what's the difference between Kazaa and Kazaalite?

Some of my friends still have the regular spyware full KaZaa full of "good offers". I did encourage them to stop and get KaZaa Lite and stuff, they were satisfied with what they had...bad idea. I don't use either of them because even without that, my computer's vulnerable to spyware, malware and such.
I also heard a while back that the reason that KaZaa wasn't shut down along with Napster was because technically their server was legal...that their servers were located in somewhere like Newfoundland where these things are legal...of course, it's kinda hard to believe that since they don't know international copyright laws .kram

I noticed the same thing back when I used to use Kazza Lite K++, it actually did work at discouraging me, as it would be more of a hassle to download a clean, good quality song than it was worth. I re-installed windows a few days ago and have no plans of re-installing Kazza Lite (Or any P2P program) back on my computer, mostly because of security reasons, as from what I understand any file you download could potentially have a nasty virus on it. But also because I am over the whole downloading music thing and if I really like/want a song bad enough but don’t think buying the full CD is worth it, I am just going to pay for the song using I Tunes.

Kazaa Lite sounds pretty good, but I don't know if the RIAA would catch me or not. It's just a risk you have to take I guess. Wouldn't an anti-virus program help with the viruses because that's kind of the point of have anti-virus, to stop viruses. And with the spyware you could just get a spyware remover and all that stuff.

Kazaa and problems...isn't that being redundant? Like AOL and problems....
