Streaming Video 101
Can anyone point me the right direction or give me a 101 about video streaming for windows media and quicktime files.

For streaming anything other than WMV Apple's DSS server is the only way to go. It works great, has a web interface for remote administration, and has never even hiccup'd on the server I run it on, much less crashed.
It will run on Linux, FreeBSD, Solaris (i think), and of course OSX. And of course as with the vast majority of other Linux/BSD Unix programs, the price is right (free ).
