Ie 6

I just formatted and re-installed win98se. I downloaded all security updates along with IE6, now when I try to access web page I get a message from microsoft that explorer needs to restart that there was some sort of problem. Now this doesn't happen but about 98% of the time. I had to go back to IE5. any suggestions?

Many have reported just what you describe. You found the only recommended solution by going back to an earlier version of IE. Something about some versions of 98. I've never had the problem myself w/98se.

On some 98SE workstations, IE6 works. On others it doesn't. In the case that you run into that problem, the highest version you will be able to install in 5.5
