Problems with IE6

I am running W98SE. After opening an e-mail about a week ago, I can only access websites with a secure login (Fleet Bank, Ameritrade, Vanguard Group) If I try to go anywhere else, I get a dnserror cannot find server. I have NAV 2002, fully updated and Ad-Aware but they report nothing. The problem lies in IE6. I cannot got to symantec.com yet my NAV software can. I an't access my AT&T mail thru IE6 yet MS Outlook Express can. I have tried to download IE6 and Netscape 7 from a PC but the files they download to you are simply setup files for the install and when either goes out to their respective websites my IE6 gives the cannot find server page.

This may or may not help.
Open IE, then click Tools, Options, Programs tab.
Click Reset Web Settings.
Uncheck "Also reset my homepage", then click YES.
Close IE, then reopen and see if you can access websites.

You may have already fixed your problem but I had a similar hassle only recently. I was told to go into IE options, then advanced etc and check the box (near the top) that says show friendly URLs. ie make sure it's ticked.
