Talking Newbie web site question

Okay! I think I'm all ready to upload my very first site! I have my domain registered with GKG.net and my host is powweb.com... So, now what do I do? What FTP program should I use, etc?

You can use whatever program you like, I use WiseFTP, but you have to pay for that. You can use built in windows ftp (but it is not very good), just by typing the address in the address bar of IE, (i.e. ftp://yourdomain.com). You could use that just to get the site working and then look for a program to do it more easily.

I second FileZilla. When WS_FTP stopped offering their free version I was lost for a while. I think i downloaded about 8 FTP programs before I found one that just worked and that I didn't have to try to figure out.

I still use WS_FTP - a good FTP program for the price. I hear some nice things about BatchFTP though - the link is on my guide in the Prog/Web Dev sticky thread (too lazy to go there now ).
