The main reason I use Firefox is because it displays websites the way they're supposed to be displayed. Firefox is a standards-compliant browser, meaning it complies with the rules on how webpages are supposed to be displayed as set down by the W3C.

I also like it because of tabbed browsing. You can open multiple pages in one window, which really is cool.

It's easy enough to test it out, so I recommend you download it and try it. I almost guarantee you won't go back.

Well, the main reason that most users switched recently is because of the vulnerabilities that MS Internet Explorer has seen and MS's inadequacies in patching them. The US Department of Homeland Security, oddly enough, recommended switching to an alternate browser, Mozilla Firefox being a very strong and recognized alternate.

If you block HTML, you won't be seeing any webpage . But really, good surfing habits and a good AV/Firewall program should do it. Mozilla Firefox is a good program that doesn't take as much spyware as MSIE is vulnerable to.

Browsing habits make all the difference. I use MyIE2 (now Maxthon) which is based on IE but has MANY more features like tabbed browsing, mouse gestures, etc. and I don't get any spyware. I rarely even scan because I know it will come up with nothing.
