I am working with Micrografx Picture Publisher to make text for a web page. I would like to remove the white area
around the text,so that just the text appears when I insert it into a web page. |

Make the background transparent, and it MUST be saved as a .gif

I have no idea, I don't use Micrografix, although I've got a copy here somewhere.
In PaintShop Pro, one selects the color (usually white) to make transparent, and it's about a 2 click procedure. |

When one is unsure, check the help files. I don't have Micrografix's program, but in Photoshop, it's a matter of creating a transparent matte on any layer, and removing background colors on the other layers.

I'm going by memory here because I don't have it loaded on this PC. I believe when you click File, Save As, there should be an Options button. I think there is an area there to make a certain color transparent.
