TCI/IP not installed?

Today when I turned on my computer, my anti-virus software (nortan antivirus) displayed an error message saying TCP/IP isnt installed. Then I got a different message saying "common client user session has encountered a problem and needs to close". Then my internet connection kinda died on me . I ran adaware and spybot search and destroy and tried reinstalling my network card, but that didnt fix it. I know its not the connection because it works on my other computer. I also went to check to see if TCP/IP was installed and it is. If it matters im using winXP. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this?

why don't you try to uninstall the NIC card from Device Manager, restart system and re-installed driver....
