She wants it fixed, short of a reinstall. Version 4.74 (her favorite) has a bookmark problem. When clicking on bookmark, the screen flashes the list for a split second and returns to current page. If mouse is held down, the list appears and stays, unfortunately unable to select anything this way. She won't use IE.
Ideas for my weekend, anyone?

I don't know Sarge. Do you think that you could maybe come up with a Netscape recall story. Something to the effect of this:
"Due to serious compatiblity problems and many users reporting crashes of the Netscape browser, the US government today issued a public recall of all versions of Netscape. The company promised that they would have these problems fixed in several years time and re-release the browser. No one at Netscape could be found to comment. However, Steve Case, CEO of AOL had this to say 'No Comment'" |

Try downloading the .jar file updater. This will effectively reinstall Netscape without messing with any stored settings. I would recommend that you update to 4.76 anyway - it fixes some security issues.
ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/communica...or_32d_476.jar After it's downloaded, open it in Netscape - you will have to set the open dialog to show "all files" to see it. |
