Verizon's FIOS

Verizon is going to start offering a 5Mbps internet service. It's looks like it's going to be a direct fiber optic connection, unlike DSL or Cable. Looks like they already started the service in some parts of Texas, and will be expanding their service to California and Florida. Hopefully this will drive down broadband prices too. I pay $40 for a 1.5/896 ADSL connection. Check this out:

5Mbps/2Mbps $39.95 or $34.95 with a calling plan
15Mbps/2Mbps $49.95 or $44.95 with a calling plan
30Mbps/5Mbps prices to be announced
