free trials
When you download a free trial off the internet how do they remember that you already used it. for example i downloaded a free trial of software about 2 months ago and then deleted it. I wanted to try it again but when I downloaded it it said trial expired. Is there something on my computer or does it know my ip adress? This has also happened before.

Basically, by installing the trial, it puts a small note inside your computer stating that it has already installed it once and that computer can only experience it one as a trial. No, you can't - otherwise, you can use the trial forever!
