Angry Fire

I have been fighting a constant battle with Outlook Express on one of my computers. I get double e-mail messages. I've upgraded the program, removed it, reinstalled it, and I still get the double messages. This only happens with the Hotmail part of it. Anyone else had this problem?

Cool

Double check your settings, keep copy of message on server etc. on both programs. I have received duplicate messages if I move a message into a folder or delete from 1 location and not another. Click on Tools, Accounts - select Mail then click on the advnaced tab, you'll see the settings near the bottom.

Unhappy Tried that...

There is no advanced tab available for Hotmail. My other accounts have it but Hotmail does not.

Exclamation I found this on Hotmail's help page;

I found this on Hotmail's help page;

Why am I getting duplicates of POP messages in my inbox?

If you chose to leave POP mail on your server when you set up your POP account, and did not choose to download new messages only, you arranged to put a copy of all messages in your POP account into your Hotmail account every time you check for POP mail. To stop seeing the same POP messages repeatedly, follow these steps;

1. Click Options on the horizontal navigation bar, and click POP Mail.

2. Select the Download new messages only check box for each account you have and click OK.
