What are your system specs?

Does the machine lock up?

dell dim 8300, 1 gig ram.
system does not lock up, i just have to reboot windows in order to have a connection with the always on cable . once i do that, all is fine until the next time its idle, same thing. drives my wife nuts when she checks her email(business) and outlook doesn't connect until a reboot.

It could be a faulty NIC. I've had to replace a high number dell dimension NICs over the past few months.
