Can't send page by e-mail in IE

I have a user who can't send a page by e-mail from within Internet Explorer using the File...Send...Page by e-mail command. Instead of creating a new e-mail, an error message pops up that says "The current document type can not be sent as mail" and asks if you want to send as a link. If you click "yes," though, not even a link is sent. This problem, strangely enough, only seems to affect www.msnbc.com and articles on that site.

The details are IE 6, and Windows XP SP2. The problem seemed to start happening with SP2.

Has anybody else seen this kind of problem? If you have XP SP2 and IE, can you try it out and see if the same thing happens? It does on my PC.

In IE, if you go to tools, internet options, advanced - under security at the bottom uncheck "Do Not Save Encrypted Pages to Disk". It will work then, but if using Outlook you may get the "outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachment..."

It's already unchecked, and in any case these aren't sites that are encrypted. If you have XP and SP2, what happens when you try to send a news article (any random news article will do) using send page by e-mail? I know that some sites disable this in some way, so I want to know if it is the site or the computer. Thanks.

It works for me if I uncheck it, but if checked I get the same message...I don't know why

let me correct that...It lets me do it once when I uncheck it...after that I get a message. Sorry, I know it's no help. by the way, I have xp sp2

Cheryl

one more thing..they have an "email link" at the top of the articles, guess they want you to use that
